Today on the VE--for the hour, remembering two great journeymen of classic rock--Bobby Keys and Ian McLagan, who died within a day of each other this week.
McLagan was a founding member of The Small Faces, later The Faces, and guest player with many artists from The Rolling Stones to Billy Bragg and Nick Lowe.
Keys lived large with rock legends from Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker, Delaney & Bonnie to the solo Beatles, but is best remembered for his firey solos for the Stones on their greatest 1970s records, and toured with them until ill health recently forced his retirement.
